In 1998, some of the most important business families in North-Eastern Italy agreed to set up  their own multi-family office to manage their private wealth.Thus started Alpe Adria Gestioni SIM SpA, but even today many of the same families and investment professionals remain a part of it.The core business at Alpe Adria Gestioni is always the same: to preserve and grow the assets under management for its clients.

Alpe Adria Gestioni aims to increase the assets under management the same way for all its clients, not just for its founding families.
Finding the right partner is not an easy task, both in life and in business. Since we got started, our mission at Alpe Adria Gestioni has always been the same, for our founding families as well as for new clients: to offer the best possible partnership in portfolio management and investment services. The core part of the assets under management still belongs to these families and for this reason Alpe Adria’s values have stayed the same over time. A streamlined and dynamic organisation

Alpe Adria Gestione operates out of two offices, one in Pordenone and one in Milan. The staff includes 2 co-CEOs and 12 employees. We aim to offer capital growth through a disciplined and independent investment process; we comply with high standards of risk assessment, portfolio diversification and the most careful attention to clients’ needs.
As a SIM, Alpe Adria Gestioni has received authorisation by Consob (ref n. 11368 and n. 19060) to perform the following activities: discretionary portfolio management, investment advisory services and retail desk execution. All clients’ assets are deposited in escrow accounts at major Italian and foreign banks.

Competence and a personal approach are the common denominator of Alpe Adria Gestioni professionals. Our staff includes directors and portfolio managers with a long standing experience in companies such as ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank, Friuladria and Lloyd Adriatico.

Michelangelo Canova

President

Michelangelo is one of the founders of the company and has served as chairman  since 2002. A former general manager of the finance department at Banca Popolare Friuladria and Allianz Lloyd Adriatico, he now also sits on the board of directors of several private equity and fund management firms. Since 2003 he has been an advisor and member of the executive committee at Alerion Clean Power, a leading renewable energy firm.

Felice Fort

Felice is co-CEO and founder of the company. He is in charge of the supervisory and administrative departments. Prior to this he was treasurer at Banca Popolare Friuladria and was a senior executive at ABN Amro CIMO SIM.

Giorgio is a member of the board and acts as commercial manager. His business experience includes country head for an American multinational corporation, CEO of Finanza & Futuro Banca and CIO of Deutsche Bank SpA.

Council Member

Riccardo is a member of the Board and joined AAg after working in London, Germany and Italy as treasury sales and business banker  for various international financial firms, including 10 years at Deutsche Bank SpA  as Senior Relationship Manager in charge of several key clients.

Antonio Barcella

Indipendent Council Member

Antonio is a freelance accountant and auditor specialized in banking  and finance; he is enrolled in the Italian “Albo dei Dottori Commercialisti”. After working for ABN Amro Bank he has been acting as advisor, chairman and board member at different  firms, even abroad,  including Aeroporto S.p.a., a  company of the Milan listed  Save S.p.A. Group. He received the ‘Cavaliere’  order of merit of the Italian Republic.

Federico Zoppas

Council Member

Federico is a shareholder and board member of AAg in addition to General Manager of the Zoppas Industries Heating Element Technologies Group Industrial Division. He’s member of the Board of Directors of IRCA S.p.A., SIPA S.p.A, Palladio Finanza and Genefinity a nanomaterials start up company created by the Trieste University. He has been VP of innovations in Unindustria Treviso.
After his degree in Sociology at the University of Urbino, he worked for 3 years in corporate finance at Dresdner Bank.

After graduating in Economics at Verona University he worked for Julius Baer in Zurich between 1994 and 1998 and for Goldman Sachs in London between 1999 and 2003; he obtained a Masters  degree in finance at London Business School in 1999 and the CFA degree 2003. He also worked for UBS Wealth Management in Padova before joining AAg at the end of 2004.

Giorgio Filipetto

Italian Equity

Giorgio joined AAg in July 2005, and is in charge of Italian equities and fund of fund portfolios. Previously he had worked for Banca Friuladria where he was first employed in the Finance division back-office, then as branch advisor and finally as equity  portfolio manager for the bank own book. From 1998 to June 2005 he worked for Hypo Alpe Adria Bank in the individual portfolios and fund portfolios group.
